i thought i loved jason mantzoukas as much as was possible, then i learned that he has dated connie britton. i was certain that i had maxed out my love at that point, then i discovered that he is a packing psycho. just the best💖💖
god tier hack: never go anywhere, never have to pack anything! the only place i go is my parents so i put two of those huge ikea bags in my back seat jammed with all my laundry and then bring a tote bag with my laptop, nalgene, and a ziploc full of all my toiletries. i'm working on getting like...a real overnight bag and not just using the same worn tote bag i use for groceries but??
i put my dirty laundry in an empty target bag. i know, plastic bags in 2023? ewwwww. but we do order pickup (can u tell i can't handle being around ppl at all? haha cool, cool.) so i have no control in how they pack the order and so i have a zillion plastic bags. sorry, earth.
tangent: also idk how old anyone is but anyone remember fashion plates? 👀 i was just thinkin' about those looking at all your outfit drawings. mix n match! even tho i've always hated fashion/clothes i've always loved art so that was one of my fave toys.
i DID play with fashion plates and tiktok tells me they might be making a comeback!
And I too have a bag stuffed full of bags under my sink (plastic, paper and reusable) - they come in handy for everything. If you have them may as well use them!
I've hacked the system and for 4 days in Copenhagen in August packed a backpack! Sized like a school backpack. Including travel yoga mat and belt. Next challenge: 5 days in Naples with backpack in April.
If you loved rolling things, you're gonna LOVE packing cubes 👍 they're also good for keeping dirty and clean clothes separate. Also I have solid versions of face wash/soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner to both stay under the amount of liquids you're allowed to bring, and also so nothing leaks in my bag. I also bring a few Ziploc baggies in different sizes and I always end up using them for something. Also! Stuff socks into your shoes, don't waste that shoe space 😅
My best packing hack is to bring a pillowcase and use it as a laundry bag. I love keeping my dirty stuff separate from the clean clothes!
Taking note of that one!
How about packing cubes? So much easier to organize and find clothes in the suitcase.
I'm going to try that next - rolls within packing cubes!
insanity-level packing discussion, but also hilarious and maybe inspirational??
