Hooray! A trip to New York! The last time I went to New York was for 40 hours in November 2019 after I’d sold my first couple of cartoons. I was in Rhode Island for comic con, took a 4 hour Greyhound bus to NYC, lugged two huge suitcases full of con supplies through the bowels of the New York subway to my hotel room, and then dragged my sweaty body directly to the New Yorker office for this photo op.
This time around, I’m going to have more time to explore, meet so many of the cartoonists and illustrators I’ve befriended over the last three years IN PERSON, and go to a proper New Yorker staff party (?!?!?) at which I hope to be a little less sweaty. 2019 Zoe would never believe it. I’m so excited!

Today, of course, is Valentine’s Day, and I had the privilege of drawing the bonus Daily Cartoon for the New Yorker:
It was inspired by a text message that my sister’s husband sent to her (they’ve been together 17 years):
Romance isn’t dead, folks! I hope you’re celebrating with the one(s) you love.

hahaha...that bit at the bottom is me but with frogs. (although i do also really enjoy cheese.) in fact last night after i opened my vday gifts from my partner (15yrs for us) - including a new frog for my frog collection - he said, i thought you would like that better than flowers. and i was like, i like flowers! it's just...if the choice is flowers or frog, the answer is always going to be FROG. like no question.
anyway thank you for more extremely relatable content and have a safe and wonderful trip.
Zoeeee! I'm flying out to NYC for this staff party, too! Be my friend!? 😅
