Scotland Travelogue 2

Alien landscapes abound!

apparently it is gauche to call whisky “scotch” in Scotland but alas I cannot stop

We’ve been driving around Scotland for the past week, hopping from hotel to b&b and packing up every day, but I was still able to steal a few moments for sketching:

gorgeous fall colours

We made it to the Isle of Skye a few days ago and I am speechless at how wild and beautiful the landscape is. Mostly playing around to capture the colours in these following sketches:

The dramatic cliffs on Skye were formed by massive landslips and have this crazy shape - one enormous sheer face, and a sloping back that you can just walk onto to reach the cliff’s edge.

We have one more day on Skye, and a week left in the UK. I’m looking forward to doing more drawings of what we’ve seen once I get back - I’ve taken a thousand reference photos. It all evokes Mars or like alien skyscrapers, just unbelievable.
