so much steak pie and sticky toffee pudding

Hello from sunny Scotland (incredibly, every day so far except one has been sunny or very manageable light rain, i am expecting it to turn at any second). I’m pleased to report that the mobile art setup is working out wonderfully! In this first week, I’ve only used the fountain pen, diluted ink brush, watercolour set, and pink sketchbook. Here are a bunch of the mashed potato-fuelled pages from our time in Edinburgh and beyond (details in captions):

We took an 8 hour flight and then a 4 hour train ride to get to Edinburgh which sounded fun in theory but in practise was very hard lol

Jet lag in your 30s is no joke, it turns out. I’m writing this while jet lagged at 3am, one week into this trip. Will I ever sleep normally again??

I ate enormous breakfasts at the Edinburgh Larder *twice* because I couldn’t stop thinking about it

i’ve been really enjoying the freedom of drawing anything anywhere on the page and not necessarily having a standalone image on each page/spread. It sounds silly but having the internal confidence to draw in books without this arbitrary limit has taken me my whole life, lol.

A couple days ago we headed out in a rented car to drive through the Highlands and other beautiful places.

Currently we’re in the Cairngorms, soaking in the absolutely glorious fall colours.
