I've spent all week learning how to use tube watercolours, and about colour theory (SCREECH) because I've finally accepted the limitations of using only a cheap travel palette and a broken water brush 100% of the time, and thinking about colours only in terms of “that looks pinkish” and “that looks more like a sky than an ocean”.
Here is the first thing I made with my new and evolving understanding of what I’m actually doing.
It doesn’t look very different from the usual but is much more intentional. Example: those shadows are purples and blues, rather than just diluted black! Can you believe it????? I barely can.
I will soon write a post for paid subscribers about what I learned, where I learned it, and how it’s going to completely change my life. For now, behind the paywall is a video of me painting this picture.
Happy weekend <3
