This is the first bit from a comic/essay I’m working on about food, something I love and have had a fraught relationship with. It started as an ode to my espresso machine and is evolving. I implore you to try a perfect little meal today.

I did a demo with Opus in 2021 where I talked about my career progression and my drawing practise, but for some reason things feel really different now — I am now firmly a “cartoonist” in my own mind rather than “accidentally a cartoonist but really a lawyer,” and my artistic voice (for lack of a better term) is way stronger now than it was then. So, I’m going to try to talk more about my career and work as it is now, instead of focusing so much on how I got here from the law. How exciting! (and nerve-wracking — off to go finish my Powerpoint presentation now…)
