I’ve been hitting a block about what to paint to practise painting. There are only so many live-drawn cartoons of your dog/husband sitting right in front of you that you can paint until you start to feel like you’ll never be able to imagine anything original ever again.
Anyway, I re-stumbled upon Seo Kim’s absolutely transcendent movie still colour studies…
And I figured this would be a great, dynamic way to practise mixing colour. Here are some I made today using reference images from Color Palette Cinema.
