2016 ➡️ 2026
(and a book/studio update)
On February 1, 2016, I received my first-ever book contract: a two-book deal to illustrate the Wolfie and Fly series. I got the email while in court, and kept it together until I got to the office, where I proceeded to ugly-sob so hard that my boss thought someone had died. (Incidentally, this was also two days after my eleven hour first date with my now-husband. It was a pretty WILD Monday for Zoe in the office.)
Today, I’m working on writing a book about that exact time period.
It’s very weird to be thrown back into these memories and feelings, and trying to do all of them justice. But, the confluence of it being the 10 year anniversary, and the new year (I’m always extremely reflective on major anniversaries and at the start of the year) makes it feel like the thing that is supposed to be happening right now.
There is absolutely no way i could have known back then that this would be my life now, and I still feel like this most days:
I just hope I make her proud!!!
